I always wanted to grow up and be in advertising. One down...one to go... email me at jay@stechermarketing.com |
We’re just two weeks away! If you haven’t been on this tour before, be sure to come out this year. Annie and I are in charge of the tour guides. Meaning, if you want to go on the tour and want to do it for free, shoot me an email and volunteer to be a guide! All you have to do is carry a lantern and lead your group from one spooky house to the next. Each house has actors in costume telling actual ghost stories from that house…
Last year, the tour got a little backed up so Annie and I got to share a few stories of our own to kill time while we waited. Remind me to tell y’all “The Story of the Dimes…”
Still (delicious tapas restaurant) launches its new menu tonight! I got to pop in last night as they were doing a tasting for their staff (there are perks to living across the street from a great restaurant aside from the staggering distance back to one’s home). Here’s one of the new items: Bacon wrapped tater tots!
was awesome, and both Julie and I were the shit at it (as seen below)
☛ oh and by the way- also in our class was 1/2 the cast of “The Real World DC”… we weren’t supposed to photograph them (hence the picture of their backs), but we did talk to them and they were surprisingly pretty cool. we both also had to sign release forms, giving the camera crews permission to put us on TV.
here’s the camera crew. the girl in the purple shirt (Emily), and the 2 kids in the back left hand corner are both from the cast as well.
overall it was a pretty kick-ass day.

Painted the living room and dining room this weekend so we can finally put up these photos we had framed. They’re of doorknockers that we saw in each city we visited in Italy this summer…
Tartan Golf Club in the Northern Neck of VA.
This place actually allows kilts and plus-fours as dress code.
Anyone have a kilt I could borrow?
Papercut is a new public theme I made. Everything is customizable and it supports tags and commenting.
That’s one handsome theme you have there sir. I think I shall install it.
I couldn’t agree more and shall also hop on this well-designed bandwagon.
I GOT BLISTERS ON THESE FINGERS!
I started playing guitar when I was 13. It was some crappy acoustic that I can’t even remember the brand name.
But I remember trying to play my dad’s Martin D-28 and on the few occasions that I had my fingers in the right places, it sounded like what God must sound like when He’s humming.
Well, I just picked up the Adobe CS4 Design Premium and it’s like that damn Martin all over again. It’s overwhelming as all get out, but on the few occasions that I click in the right places…..HUMMMMMMMMMM.
I can’t wait until I’m flying around on all these apps like the Lester Flatt of Adobe.
I watched “Hoarders” for the first time this weekend. We’re not the messiest people on Earth, but we’re certainly not the cleanest, either. Needless to say, after watching 30 minutes of one episode, I was ready to scrub everything down with fire and douse the flames with bleach.
I loved that at nearly ever commercial break, there was an ad for at least one Swiffer product and/or OxyClean. It served as a lovely palate cleanser from the filth and dead kitten-ridden homes I was watching.
On a related note: I made it through one complete episode and about 10 minutes of a second before grabbing the 409 and roll of paper towels and showing the kitchen who’s boss.
Just dropped off a contract for a new client to sign. Actually, two copies of the contract. I gave a client the benefit of the doubt once and let them keep the only copy. I won’t make that very expensive mistake again.
Ohhhh, Fredericksburg! (via Wonkette)
You’ve got to be kidding me. In honor of this ad, I think I will serve pork chops in honor of Ramadan…
I also like the upside-down flag in the corner.
